Big Talbot Island State Park & Little Talbot Island State Park: Just northeast of Jacksonville, these two adjoining coastal treasures offer immersive outdoor escapes. Big Talbot Island State Park, famed for its dramatic “Boneyard Beach” with eerie driftwood skeletons set against rugged bluffs, is ideal for nature photography, bird-watching, hiking, biking, kayaking, and picnicking. Little Talbot Island State Park, the larger of the pair, spans approximately 2,500 acres of pristine beaches, maritime forests, dunes, and salt marshes. It features a full‑facility campground, picnic pavilions, bath houses, boat ramp, nature trails, and opportunities for biking, canoeing, surfing, and wildlife spotting—including river otters, marsh rabbits, bobcats, and migratory birds.
